Investment & acquisition group
The next chapter for established construction businesses.
Black Tier Capital acquires and invests in owner-managed construction and building-services businesses in and around London — and stays involved in running them.

Who does Black Tier invest in?
Established, owner-managed construction and building-services businesses in and around London. Owners speak with Shaun Yendall about succession, a gradual exit or investment for the next stage.
What that means in practice
- A direct conversation with the buyer
- An initial focus on London and its surroundings
- Structure considered around the owner’s priorities
An owner, involved in the business.
Black Tier Capital is a holding company, not a consultancy. We do not broker deals, run sale processes for a fee, or pass businesses on to third parties.
When we approach an owner — or an owner approaches us — it is because the group itself is interested in acquiring or investing in that business, and in helping it run well afterwards.
That changes the conversation. You are speaking to the people who would own the business alongside you, or after you, from the very first call.
Every owner arrives at this point for a different reason.
Three routes are discussed most often. None is assumed, and you do not need to have decided before we speak.
A focus on construction and building services.
A narrow focus means we understand how these businesses actually make money — contracts, labour, cash flow and clients — before the first meeting.

Construction contractors
Established firms delivering commercial and residential construction work, with a trading history and a team behind the owner.

Building services
Businesses that maintain, fit out and look after buildings — often with repeat clients and recurring work.

Painting & decorating
Commercial decorating contractors with multi-site and repeat clients.

In and around London
An initial focus close to home, so the group can stay involved in the businesses it owns.
A discreet, unhurried process.
An initial conversation
An informal call about you, the business and what you are hoping for. No documents needed.
A fit review
We look at whether the business matches our criteria, and tell you plainly either way.
Information exchange
If there is a fit, we agree what information would help and how it is shared.
Evaluation
We evaluate the business properly and discuss what a transaction or investment could look like.
An agreed next stage
Anything further happens only with your agreement, at a pace that suits you.
Our approach comes from running businesses, not from advising on them. Including the turnaround of Hall of Vape.
Questions owners ask
Is Black Tier an adviser or a broker?
No. Black Tier Capital is an investment and acquisition group. When we speak to an owner, it is because the group itself is interested in acquiring or investing in the business — we are not selling your business on to someone else, and we do not charge owners an advisory fee.
What kinds of businesses do you look at?
Established, owner-managed construction and building-services businesses, with an initial focus in and around London. The investment criteria set out what we look for in more detail.
Do I have to sell the whole business?
Not necessarily. Some owners want a full sale, some want to step back in stages, and some want investment while they carry on running the business. The right structure depends on your priorities and is agreed case by case.
Will a first conversation commit me to anything?
No. A first conversation is simply an exchange to see whether there is a sensible fit. Nothing moves forward without your agreement, and you can stop at any point.
Accountants, brokers and advisers.
If you advise the owner of a construction or building-services business that may be a fit, we would be glad to hear from you. Terms for introductions are agreed separately and in advance.

Tell us a little about your business and what you are considering. There is no obligation, and nothing moves forward without your agreement.
